Family and friends of the Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon athletes can now receive FREE real time text updates of the action on course. It only takes a minute to sign-up. After completing a brief “upgrade check” with Best Buy Mobile™individuals will be able to sign up to track the progress of loved ones on race day. This is a great way for fans to track the progress of their favorite triathletes, whether waiting at the finish line, or cheering from across the country. Updates will be issued via text message at various check points throughout the course, including:

• Race Start
• Swim Out
• Bike Start
• Bike Finish
• Run Start
• Run Finish
• Finish Line

All updates will include the time of day and the respective splits of the portion of the race completed. It’s even possible to track multiple athletes to compare splits and overall results.

This technology is the result of partnership with Best Buy Mobile™ and the Life Time Toyota U.S. Open Triathlon. Before accessing the Race Tracker widget, users will have a chance to perform a simple upgrade check to learn when they are eligible for a phone upgrade, based on current contract.
